Chile

Chile stretches for more than 4,000 kilometres along the Pacific, meaning its landscapes shift dramatically from north to south.

In the north lies the surreal silence of the Atacama Desert, where salt flats, volcanoes and lunar valleys glow red at sunset. It’s one of the best places in the world for stargazing, an activity that will help shape your understanding of the universe.

Located within the central valley is Santiago, the main agricultural zone. It almost feels as though it exists to prove that where there’s food (and wine), there will be life.

Southern Chile is the definition of natural beauty. Punta Arenas stands as a windswept gateway to Patagonia and Antarctica. Arguably best of all is Torres del Paine National Park, where dramatic peaks and emerald lakes offer some of the world’s greatest hiking trails.
